About NOJI

”NOJI” is a trade name, named after the place where my late grandparents spent their entire lives.

Away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, the place was filled with the warmth of time, casual life, and people.

Now we cannot live beyond Marginal village, but since 2019, the couple has been living as bamboo basket craftsmen in a mountain village similar to ”NOJI”.

Manufacturing that leaves a lasting impression on the eyelids

Living in nature makes us feel close to the changing nature of life and reminds us that human are a part of it.

I also feel that the presence of an invisible sixth sense that propagates in this space seems to shake our sense of values.

Based on the techniques I have learned from time to time, I wanted to express these with bamboo, which has various charms such as strength and delicacy.

As a bamboo craftsman, I would like to challenge myself to express the beauty of "untouchable objects" as well as "touchable objects" as in the past.

We believe that important things will remain on the eyelids regardless of the presence or absence of objects.

And NOJI also wants to be a craftsman who can deliver "the trigger of happiness".
